Duckworth Pump and Well Drilling was founded by Ron Duckworth in 1972 under the name Puget Sound Well Drilling. From the beginning, Ron worked hard to provide the highest quality pump and well drilling services available. In those early years, he also installed sprinkler systems and took on other jobs to help support the growing business.

As the company expanded, Ron was joined by his brother Don in 1978. In 1991, Glenn Prindle became part of the team, focusing on the pump and water conditioning side of the business. In 2021, Mat Ten Elshof joined the company to assist him. Over the years, many employees have contributed to the business, but Duckworth Pump and Well has intentionally remained a small, family-based company in order to maintain its commitment to quality and attention to detail.

In 2018, Ron was ready to retire. For many years prior, Duckworth Pump and Well had worked closely with Northwest Water Systems, servicing many of the water systems they manage and installing projects designed by their engineers. Another connection between the companies was that Ron’s son-in-law served as the President of Northwest Water Systems.

Because the two companies shared strong values centered on quality, thoroughness, and caring for people, it was a natural transition for Northwest Water Systems to expand their services by incorporating pump work, water conditioning, and water system installation alongside their water system management and engineering services.

Today, by working together, the combined companies are able to better serve their customers. Duckworth Pump and Well benefits from the technical expertise and support of Northwest Water Systems’ engineering and management staff, while the engineering and management team also gains access to the many years of practical experience that Duckworth Pump and Well brings to the table.
